It's Make It Monday over at Papertrey Ink and this is my first entry! Creative Coasters is the theme for participating this week and it's been a blast using their coasters! They cut so easily. I have been in decorating wedding mode for over a year as both sons have married within six months of each other! The eldest son was recently wed in Varadero, Cuba last month. So let's see what I created incorporating coasters into a wedding banner!! We had sooo much fun…congrats to my son and his new wife!

Here are the official wedding photos I took with the couple and their resort photographer. We drove to the Mansion at the Varadero Golf Club where the pictures were shot at the beach and on the club house patio overlooking that gorgeous blue ocean!

So when I offered to make the wedding invitations for my son and future daughter-in-law I knew from the colours they chose and it being a destination beach wedding, where to draw my inspiration from.

Look what came in the mail today! I ordered this shabby, vintage style jewelry bag from Beth Quinn, a mixed media artist in Mesa Arizona. I have purchased several jewelry pieces from her on-line shop and love them so much that when I saw these bags, I knew one had to be mine…all mine!

Can you hear me squeal in delight of this fabulous find?!!! I saw this vintage Danish table and these two unique chairs in an ad Friday night and immediately called to make an appointment to go see it yesterday. I was first in line and I could not pass this up! I've been looking for a small table in my studio and really wanted a creamy white to brighten up my space.

If you read my last post you would of found out Halloween is not one of my favourite "things." However, when I got a post from Paper Jewels and saw a neat idea for grown ups, I decided to create a couple for my adult kids. I went to the websites she recommended to print some poisonous and apothecary labels. First, aging and distressing a full sheet of adhesive paper before printing the labels gave me the effect I was hoping for.

Favorite Finds...I wanted to share on my blog fabulous decor pieces I have found while out shopping. Today I spied this GORGEOUS mirror which is actually a reclaimed door! The store that I frequent (waiting for the right pieces to come up) is Cranberry Junction here in Kelowna.

Today I made this recipe for Roasted Cauliflower Soup. We love soup at anytime of the year, but this one is a keeper for the colder winter months. I think it's the blend of the garlic and cheese that makes it so tasty. Don't like cauliflower? It's not my favourite cooked veggie either. But that's why it's roasted, for carmelizing to add flavour and colour.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly...fa la la la la...oooh, you get the idea! If you stopped in for a visit yesterday, you are here to see a bit of holiday decor around our home. I loove to decorate! I add a bit and change things up from year to year and I think this year is all about keeping it simple. So that means I didn't go out and buy anything, I just looked through boxes, cupboards and drawers of what I already have!

Today...I declare Pajama Day!! Yup, still down with the flu, but just enough energy to make tags for Christmas parcels and blog about it over a pot of honey lemon ginseng green tea and a yummy butter tart! I think I feel better already! My sons tell me it isn't Christmas without my homemade butter tarts. (I will give you the recipe tomorrow too! A girl can only do so much in one day!)

I am so pleased you have joined me on my blog to view my latest photography project and would love to hear what you have to say. Please leave me a comment at the end of this post.
I will be updating my camera to a newer DSLR Nikon or Canon....I would love to hear your pros and cons or any reasons why you have the camera you currently own. I will be purchasing it next week and my brain is tired from all the research!! However, as much as I love Canon and their products...I am leaning towards Nikon D90 or D300.

Vancouver in May

I have been wanting to share a few photos of our trip to Vancouver last month. What a sweet time hubby and I had! We saw the Eagles at GM Place on May 10th and wow did they ever put on a good show! They still have it! How fun is it when you know ALL the words to every song. This was our first time seeing a large concert and I certainly would do it again. Not only did we have a fabulous time seeing the Eagles..the next night.... we also saw the last playoff game of the Vancouver Canucks!

How lucky was it that our son managed to get tickets and was a couple rows down from us. Hey...like father, like son? Yup, you can tell they are related! Even though the Canucks lost, we are forever fans.

And here are a few more photos of our touring downtown....love Vancouver for the fact that you can walk everywhere! We walked up to the new Convention Center and back down to Gastown for lunch. The Old Spaghetti Factory is tops on our list...the best lime margarita!! No your eyes are not crossed and the picture is in focus. It's a Lego Orca!

Spring in Seattle

Seattle...was just what we needed! A little early spring showing with the cherry blossoms, primula and GREEN grass! I didn't even notice the few little sprinkles of raindrops as we walked the market.

I first found these great note pads from Staples. They appeal to me because they are made from 100% recycled paper and the lines are inked in brown. Really love that it is very natural looking! Even the top strip is like a recycled brown bag!
